Inspired by iconic glass skywalks in China, this 50-metre cantilever structure is designed on the lines of the Vagamon Glass Bridge in Kerala and is set to surpass it as the longest of its kind in the country.
Crafted entirely with high-quality German-imported glass and steel, the bridge sits 862 feet above ground and 1,000 feet above sea level. It features triple-layered, 40-mm tempered laminated glass treated to withstand coastal climatic conditions.
The project was executed under a public-private partnership (PPP) between the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) and RJ Adventures — a joint venture of SSM Shipping & Logistics and Bharat Mata Ventures Pvt. Ltd. — with an estimated cost of ₹7 crore. The bridge can hold up to 20 people at once, and tickets are likely to cost ₹300 for a 10–15 minute walk.
Similar glass bridges are currently located in Rajgir (Bihar), Sikkim, and Wayanad (Kerala).
