Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Jammu is now open for devotees

By Newsmeter Network Published on 8 Jun 2023 11:54 AM GMTJammu: Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in the Majin village in Jammu was opened on Thursday after Maha Samprokshanam, by Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha. The devotees were allowed for darshan from 10 am.
With the temple finally opening its doors, eager devotees of the state can now seek the blessings of Lord Balaji along with Mata Vaishno Devi, Amarnath and Sarada Devi temples.
The Venkateswara Swamy temple was built at a cost of Rs 30 crore on 62 acres, and another Rs 5 cores will be spent to set up a Veda Pathashala and Kalyana Mandapam. Besides the main temple, sub-shrines, potu-kitchen area, Annaprasadam counter, parking lots, and landscapes are present on the premises.
As the temple lies away from the city, the Government of Jammu was asked to provide round-the-clock security to the temple. In his address, Manoj Sinha said, āSri Venkateswara is the virat swaroop of the Hindu Sanatana Dharma who travelled all the way from the Seshachalam Range in Tirupati to Jammu to bless the people of this place and bestow them with peace and prosperity.ā
āIn the backdrop of the series of recent religious events, Jammu is on the path to becoming the hub of the religious tourism circuit. Soon, a Veda Pathashala will be coming up in this place,ā he added.
Speaking on the occasion, TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy said that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has taken up the construction of a series of Sri Venkateswara temples from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in a big way with a noble aim to take forward Hindu Sanatana Dharma across the country. An exclusive temple dedicated to Goddess Padmavathi Devi was also constructed in Chennai, which is the first of its kind temple in the country, he added.
