Thai AirAsia begins four weekly direct flights between Hyderabad and Bangkok

Hyderabad: Hyderabad and Bangkok are now connected by air travel, as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) here has introduced a new flight service connecting Hyderabad to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), Bangkok, in collaboration with Thai AirAsia.
This marked the beginning of direct travel between the two cities with Thai AirAsia, which aims to offer affordable travel options for both Indian and Thai passengers.
Flight schedule
The new Thai AirAsia service began on October 27.
Operating every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the new service adds four weekly flights from RGIA to Bangkok.
As per the flight schedule, Flight FD119 will depart from Hyderabad at 11:25 pm IST, reaching Bangkok at 4:30 am local time the following morning. The return flight, FD118, will depart from Bangkok at 8:50 pm local time and arrive in Hyderabad at 10:55 pm IST.
Enhancing connectivity and travel options
Expressing excitement about the new route, Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited, highlighted the significance of the launch: āWe are delighted to announce the introduction of new flight services from Hyderabad to Bangkok in partnership with Thai AirAsia. This development is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance international connectivity, which will not only facilitate greater business and leisure travel but also strengthen economic and cultural ties between Hyderabad and Bangkok.ā
He also noted that Thai AirAsiaās status as a prominent budget carrier would provide āmore affordable and flexible travel optionsā for passengers, reaffirming the airportās commitment to enriching passenger experiences and promoting global connections.
Expanding AirAsiaās reach in India
Thai AirAsia CEO Santisuk Klongchaiya expressed the airlineās interest in further expanding its network across major Indian cities.
He remarked, āAirAsia has long awaited the opportunity to expand its network to the major metro cities of India. Bridging travel between our two nations will promote tourism and business, bolstering both economies.ā
Klongchaiya also noted that this new route aligns with the needs of both Indian travellers and international tourists in Thailand, adding, āThai AirAsia now flies to 12 cities in India, including Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur and more, with a total of 67 flights per week.ā
Bangkokās appeal for travellers
Bangkok remains a popular destination for tourists, renowned for its vibrant street life, rich cultural heritage and lively markets.
The city offers a blend of traditional and modern attractions, with iconic sites such as Wat Arun, Wat Phra Kaew and the bustling Chatuchak Market. Known for its diverse culinary options, Bangkok is a paradise for food lovers, featuring street food, traditional Thai dishes and unique dining experiences at markets like Chatuchak and the cityās floating markets.

The addition of this new route is anticipated to drive increased passenger traffic between Hyderabad and Bangkok, benefiting the airline industry and bolstering the tourism and hospitality sectors in both cities.
