All you want to know about `Temple’, the device Zomato CEO was spotted wearing

Hyderabad: Over the past few days, social media has been abuzz with curiosity over a small device Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal was seen wearing on the side of his head, near his temple.

It started when Goyal appeared on entrepreneur Raj Shamani’s YouTube podcast. While he spoke on a range of topics, viewers were quick to notice an unusual device attached to his temple, sparking widespread speculation.

What is the device?

The device, known as “Temple,” is an experimental health-tech wearable designed to continuously monitor blood flow to the brain. The concept stems from Goyal’s interest in ageing, cognition, and longevity. It is linked to his self-proposed “Gravity Ageing Hypothesis,” which examines how gravity over time may influence cerebral blood flow and overall brain health.

The small gold- or silver-coloured sensor tracks blood circulation to the brain, a crucial marker of neurological health and the ageing process.

Currently, Temple remains a research prototype and is not available as a consumer product. It is part of Deepinder Goyal’s personal research initiative under ‘Continue Research’. He has reportedly committed $25 million (around ₹225 crore) from his personal funds to scale up the project.

What initially appeared unusual has now emerged as a possible window into the future of wearable brain-health technology.

Goyal’s views on gravity

In November 2025, Deepinder Goyal shared his views on gravity and its potential role in shortening human lifespan.

“I’m not sharing this as the CEO of Eternal, but as a fellow human, curious enough to follow a strange thread. A thread I can’t keep with myself any longer. It’s open-source, backed by science, and shared with you as part of our common quest for scientific progress on human longevity,” he wrote on X.

“Newton gave us a word for it. Einstein said it bends spacetime. I am saying gravity shortens lifespan. Read on, and tell me what you think,” he added.

According to Goyal, the hypothesis has been tested over two years through extensive research and discussions with doctors and scientists across the world. So far, he claims, no strong scientific contradiction has emerged.
