Woman killed as TSRTC bus hits scooter in Hyderabad
By Newsmeter Network Published on 28 Jan 2020 6:32 AM GMTHyderabad: A 24-year-old employee of a private infrastructure firm died after the scooter she was riding on was hit by a TSRTC bus at Yousufguda in Hyderabad on Tuesday morning, said the police. Victim L Sai Deepika Reddy was on her way to work at the time of the accident.
The woman worked as a sales executive at Aparna Enterprises Limited on Road No. 60 of Jubilee Hills. She was on the Punjagutta-Yousufguda stretch when a city bus moving in the same direction rammed into her two-wheeler near Andhra Bank, said the SR Nagar police.
Sai Deepika was tossed in the air before crashing to the road. She sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to a hospital, but doctors declared her brought dead. This is the first accident involving an RTC bus reported in the city this month.
The police have registered a case against the bus driver for causing death due to rash and negligent driving and shifted the woman's body for a post-mortem. They have also seized the bus.
