Worried about her son stuck in Canada 57 YO consumes acid, dies

Hyderabad: A 57-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide after her son could not make it to Hyderabad from Canada due to lockdown.
Identified as Bondugula Laxmi, she consumed bathroom cleaning acid at her home at Chikkadpally in Hyderabad on Wednesday
According to Chikkadpally police, the victim along with her husband Bondugula Balraj is residing at Vivek Nagar. Her son B Satish Kumar is residing in Canada along with his family.
A few weeks ago, she asked Satish to come home. But he informed her that he cannot return due to the lockdown. Since then, she was upset and had even told her husband about it.
On Tuesday night, she again discussed the issue with her husband. Later, she consumed bathroom cleaning acid. She was immediately shifted to the Medicure hospital near Secretariat. However, she died on Wednesday.
Chikkadpally police have registered a case and started the investigation.
