Mangalagiri: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has yet again proved to be a down-to-earth individual as a video taken during the Independence Day celebrations has gone viral on many social media platforms.
An Andhra Pradesh Information and Public Relations Department video clip went viral on Thursday when the Chief Minister himself picked up the Gallantry Medal that accidentally fell from the chest of an officer who received the medal.
On the occasion of Independence Day, Andhra Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy decorated a gallantry medal to Kandala Eswar Rao, an elite anti naxal junior commando of Greyhounds. But while saluting the CM the medal fell down.
Though the cop had noticed that the medal fell he maintained discipline by moving ahead as part of the parade. However, the Chief Minister also noticed it. Immediately the Chief Minister picked it up and handed the same to Chief Security Officer Joshi.
Chief Secretary, LV Subramanyama and Director General of Police, Gautam Sawang is also seen in the video. Though the Chief Secretary and DGP had asked the Chief Minister to leave it, the CM had picked it up.
Meanwhile, while he was retrieving the medal another officer came marching to take the award. The Chief Minister’s hand was at the officer's feet at the time. The officer has also noticed and had taken care while continuing the discipline.
