YSRCP MLA retorts to TDP leaders comment on English medium in Andhra schools

Amaravati: YSRCP Sattenapalli MLA Ambati Rambabu, on Saturday said that the Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to introduce English as a medium in Telugu schools was to make it available for the downtrodden and minorities.

He while speaking to the media said, , “it was unfortunate that some of the speakers at the Fourth World Telugu Writers conference organised by the Krishna district Telugu Rachayitula Sangham in Vijayawada on Friday criticised the state government’s policy of English education.”

He said that the Telugu Desam Party members, who had participated in the conference, were actually flaunting about themselves and were talking ill about introduction of English medium in Schools. “Some Telugu Desam Party leaders flaunting traditional dresses had spoken at the conference and tried to show off as if they were the only benefactors of Telugu language and as if the YSRCP government has no respect for Telugu.” He added.

According to Rambabu, the government has initiated this, so the downtrodden students can also get good jobs and can face the world with more confidence. He said “Jagan Mohan Reddy government wants the students to face the global competition and get good job opportunities once they finish their studies.”In November this year the Andhra Pradesh government announced that English will be the medium of instruction for classes 1 to 6 in all Andhra Schools.
