The first set of 50 buses was introduced by the government on June 3rd, which since then has been collecting swab samples from several areas.
Officials at the AP government say that the bus helps in collecting samples of multiple people at a time, and ensures that there is no contact between the person collecting the sample and the one who is being tested. The government then tracks COVID suspects through ANMs (Auxillary Nurse Midwife) who visit their homes every day.
Each of the 102 buses has 10 counters which can test multiple people at the same time. The swab samples collected will be sent to the Indian Council of Medical Research, and whoever's sample is collected is asked to shift into self-quarantine or home isolation.
The Jaganreddy run government is also looking forward to hiring 9,700 more medical practitioners, and has sent out notifications for the same.
