India to test all travellers from China since January 15 for CoronaVirus
By Newsmeter Network Published on 30 Jan 2020 9:43 PM ISTHyderabad: All travellers returned from China since 15 January 2020 shall be tested for Novel corona Virus. New orders have been directed to staff manning the Indian airports to screen passengers who have visited China in recent times.
āPassengers travelling from China after 15 January, 2020 shall be tested as there is an incubation period for the Virus. The Cabinet Secretary has stressed upon the need for 14 daysā home isolation for all those who have returned from China. It is also advised that travel to China should be avoided.
The government has decided to operate six more labs from January 31st onwards, that includes one in Hyderabad. āIt was decided to put up check-posts in relevant tourist locations for better surveillance. Precautions are underway regarding prevention and management for Novel Coronavirus in villages bordering Nepalā said the health ministry officials.
Hyderabad health officer amplify precautionary measures
Two new suspected cases of Novel Corona Virus were reported in Hyderabad on Thursday; both students had returned from Wuhan city recently. Meanwhile, reports of seven samples of suspected cases are still awaited by state authorities. Earlier, five patients (including a family of three) who self-reported to the Fever Hospital, on Tuesday, were discharged on Thursday morning
The state health department, on Thursday, set about 150 bed in āspecial isolation wardā at the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, anticipating the return of medical students from China (in case they are allowed to exit). Also, additional isolation wards to be set up at Chest Hospital to house suspected cases, said State Nodal Officer, Vijay Kumar.
