Bail petition denied for Congress MP Revanth Reddy in drone case

Hyderabad: A local court, on 11 March, dismissed the bail plea of Malkajgiri MP and Telangana Congress working president A. Revanth Reddy in connection with a case registered against him at Narsingi police station of Cyberabad commissionerate. The MP, along with seven others, has been accused of using a drone to take photographs of state IT minister KTR' farmhouse and the surrounding areas at Miyakhangadda village. Revanth had also shared some videos taken last Sunday with the media claiming the farmhouse was constructed in the Gandipet lake catchment area in violation of GO 111.

The police had registered a case again Revanth, his brother Krishna Reddy, and others. While others are out on bail, Revanth continues to be lodged at the Cherlapally central prison.

The Cyberabad police on March 5 arrested Revanth Reddy after he landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. A Police team surrounded him after he stepped out of the airport and whisked him away in Police vehicles. He was the sent to 14-day judicial custody and was later shifted to Cherlapally Jail.

The Narsingi Police arrested six persons, Poreddy Praveen Paul Reddy, Mangi Jaipal Reddy, Mandada Vijay Simha Reddy, Durga Rajesh, Elubandi Shiva and Veeresh, on March 4 in connection with the case and produced them before the court. Revanth Reddy and his brother Krishna Reddy were shown as absconding. It as believed that Revanth Reddy and his brother hired some people to take pictures of KTR's farm-house on March 1.

Revanth Reddy released the images and drone footages on March 2. Taking suo motu cognizance of the incident, the Narsingi Police registered a case and started a probe. Revanth Reddy was arrested on March 5 as soon as he landed in the city. A tense situation prevailed on the airport premises after a commotion broke out between the police and Revanth Reddy's followers and Congress workers who were at the airport to receive him.
