Bangaru Laxmans daughter files police complaint against AIMIM MLA Ahmed Balala

Hyderabad: Trouble is mounting for AIMIM MLA from Malakpet Ahmed Balala for allegedly passing casteist remarks against the BJP Scheduled Caste (SC) Morcha National Secretary Bangaru Shruthi.

Shruthi, who is the daughter of former BJP national president Bangaru Laxman complained to the police that Balala had passed abusive remarks against her in full public view.

She said the video has been widely circulated on social media. In the video, Balala is heard asking his men, who else had come to meet the Dalit girl who was allegedly raped by her neighbor Mohd Shakeel.

When he was told that former union minister Bangaru Laxman’s daughter had visited the victim, Balala allegedly became furious and used abusive and cuss words against her. Though Shruthi complained on Saturday, police are yet to take any action.

The incident occurred two days after a minor Dalit girl was allegedly raped by her neighbor Mohd Shakeel. Support has been pouring for the victim with people from a cross-section of society demanding strict action against the accused.

Shruthi had also visited the girl and spoke to her family. She alleged that Balala intentionally passed abusive comments after he came to know that she was the daughter of Bangaru Laxman, a well known Dalit leader. She also sought action against Balala under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC & ST) Atrocities Act.

Earlier Telangana SC Commission Chairman Errolla Srinivas had also alleged that Balala passed derogatory comments against him and the commission members. He also directed the police to register a case against Balala under SC & ST Atrocities Act.
