#BeTheRealManChallenge: Lockdown brings out the best in Tollywood actors

Imagine famous Tollywood actor mopping a floor and doing laundry!

Don’t be surprised. #Betherealmanchallenge is trending on social media with A-listers of the Tollywood trying their hand on everything other than acting.

The challenge was started by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who posted a video of himself washing the dishes, cleaning the windows, and dusting the house. He spoke about how a man should share the load of household chores. Later he nominated director SS Rajamouli to take it up the challenge

“Man can be a great domestic worker and a real man will never let his woman work all by herself especially during this No maid times & Quarantine. Please help in domestic work Folded handsFolded handsFolded hands #BetheREALMAN I request @ssrajamouli sir to pass it on and inspire more by uploading a video :-)” he said.

Within a couple of days, SS Rajamouli took up #Betherealman challenge and posted a video, where he can be seen sweeping the house, cleaning the window sill and moping the floor.

He tagged Sandeep and said, “Task done”. He further challenged Ram Charan, Jr NTR, producer Shobu Yarlagadda, director Sukumar and his older brother Music composure MM Keeravani. His tweet received a lot of comments from Jr NTR fans. They were happy that they would get to see his beloved star after a long time.

Both Ram Charan and Jr NTR promptly took up the challenge. Ram Charan posted a video about doing laundry, mopping the floor and watering the plants, and making coffee for Upasana Kamineni, Chairperson of Apollo Life.

Upasana too shared the video on her social media on how men should also be taking part in household activities and that women are not glorified maids. Ram Charan nominated Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, who seems to be enjoying his wife’s delicacies, director Trivikram, Rana Daggubati, and his close friend Sharwanand to take the challenge and post the video.

Jr NTR took up the challenge thrown by his RRR director SS Rajamouli. He wrote in Telugu on how they should not only be sharing love and respect in the house but also the workload. He can be seen cleaning the dishes and sweeping the garden. His fans were thrilled to see his video. His video was viewed by nearly 7 lakh people. It was retweeted by 15 thousand Twitterati's.

No sooner, Mega Star Chiranjeevi Konidela took up the challenge and won the hearts of many. Even before the #Betherealman challenge, Chiranjeevi had been posting videos of himself watering his garden and cleaning the outside area of his house.

In the challenge video, Chiranjeevi can be seen vacuuming the house and making Pesarattu Upma (a delicacy made of lentils and semilona) for his mother. The video’s high point was when he flipped the pesarattu by tossing the pan. The slow-motion of the flip made his fans drop their jaws. Chiranjeevi in his caption said that he has been doing all the work every day, but today, he just filmed it for the challenge and his fans. He further nominated his friend Rajnikanth and TRS working president KTR.

Venkatesh Daggubati followed the suit and took to social media to show how he helps in domestic work. He can be seen mopping the house, mowing the garden, cutting vegetables, and cooking. His video ends with the reading a book in his garden. Jr NTR commented on his tweet saying, “U rock sir.”

Actress Priyamani too commented on his video saying, “Sirrrrr you are too good.” He nominated his co-star from SVSC, Mahesh Babu, his co-star from Fun and Frustration, Varun Tej and director Anil Ravipudi to further take up the challenge. Of course, his comment section was filled with fans looking forward to Mahesh Babu taking it up.

Director Koratala Siva didn’t lag behind. Taking up the challenge, he said it was tough initially to do so much of work without help and it became a habit eventually. It seems he started to enjoy the process now. He further nominated Vijay Deverakonda.

Vijay Deverakonda replied with a retweet that his mother is not letting him work because it is double the work for her later and also that he is still being treated like a kid and not like a man. But he promised to show a glimpse of his day during this lockdown.

Well, while the fans await their favorite stars’ #Betherealmanchallenge video, many are waiting for one of them to tweet on how it is normal for a man to do the household work and that it is not anything heroic for there is no gender to any work.
