Birthday party host attempts rape on female singer in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Police have arrested four persons for allegedly attempting to rape a singer and event manager during a birthday party at Rajendranagar area of Hyderabad.
The accused have been identified as Amer, Mazar Ali, Salman and Suleiman. Police have registered a case of attempt to rape, outraging the modesty of woman, sexual harassment and wrongful confinement.
ACP Rajendranagar Ashok Chakrawarthy said Amer had organized a birthday party at his flat located near Pillar No 202. The contract for holding a party was given to an event management company. A female singer was also hired to perform at the party.
Police said as the party progressed the guests got drunk and asked the singer to dance as well. When she refused, they took out the knives and forced her to strip and dance.
When the event manager came to her rescue, they abused her too. Police sources said the accused sexually harassed both the women and confined them in the flat for the entire night.
Next day morning, the women somehow managed to escape from the flat and approached the police. ACP Rajendranagar Ashok Chakrawarthy said police immediately constituted special teams and nabbed the accused.
