CBI books Guntur CCS Inspector, constables for wrongful confinement of accused
By Newsmeter Network Published on 11 Aug 2020 10:17 PM ISTHyderabad: The sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation have booked three cops serving at the Central Crime Station, Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh for wrongful confinement of an accused.
CBI registered a case against CCS Inspector N Venkata Rao, head constable Sambasiva Rao and constable Veeranjaneyulu under section 120-B, 344 & 348 of Indian Penal Code. The CBI took up the investigation in compliance with the high court order.
According to the complaint, Ms Nalabolu Sunitha who moved the High court against the cops, said her husband Nala Bolu Adinarayan was illegally detained by the police at Central Crime Station Guntur from 14 to 31st October, 2019 in a cricket betting case. Around the same time three more men were wrongfully detained, the petition said.
CBIās Investigation found that, Nala Bolu Adinarayan, Rayidi Srinivas Rao and Thumati Srinivasa Rao during their detention, were forced to disclose their involvement and that of their associates in cricket betting. āThe allegation of the petitioner have prime facie establish which has disclosed commission of cognizable offences u/s 120 āB r/w section 344 and 348 IPCā Investigators said.
