Videos of the incident soon went viral on social media, with appreciation flooding in for the constable.
Sudha Rani, a teacher by profession, was pillion riding with her husband towards Begumpet, via the Chief Minister's camp office. When they reached Monappa Island(Somajiguda circle), a speeding autorickshaw hit their bike. As a result, Sudha Rani fell from the bike and sustained severe injuries.
Patrol car III from Punjagutta police station rushed to the spot. Though they cleared the traffic, a block occurred due to the accident and they had to wait for medical help. Sensing that the ambulance will be delayed due to heavy traffic flow, the patrolling staff swung into action.
Police constable Prabhu saw the bleeding woman and without wasting any time, picked her up in his arms and took to his feet. He ran for around 200 meters with the woman in his arms till they reached a hospital located beside Chief Minister's camp office.
While the woman is recovering at the hospital, the constable has been receiving much praise for his timely act.
