Courier employee working for SBI succumbs to Covid-19 in Hyd

The man, who was undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital, breathed his last in the morning hours. He was working as a messenger at the State Bank Of India, Head Office, located in Koti. His death, takes the toll to 35 in the state.
As the news spread, police , health and revenue authorities concerned, were alerted and the bank employees have also been alerted, few have been placed under quarantined. 'They will also begin sanitising the bank premises. The victim is said to be a resident of Kukatpally area, however, the exact location is yet to be known' said a Cop with Hyderabad police.
According to sources, the man was employed as a courier, distributing parcels and other material from the head office to different branches in the city. This has made the job of state health officials even more difficult, as primary and secondary contact have to be traced and tested for COVID.
Meanwhile, Over 53 percent of patients who died of COVID were in the age group 50 to 70 years, Telanganaās daily health bulletin has revealed. Of the 35 deaths ( minus the SBI employee), 18 were in the age group of 50-59 years and 70-79 years.
Around 20 percent of the deaths reported in the state were in the age group of 60-69 age years. Seven people out of the 34 deaths were in their 60s, the bulletin reported. In addition, five deceased were in their 50s, while two people were in the 80-89 age group.
