COVID-19 cases in AP cross 3000 mark, death toll climbs to 62

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh reported 105 Covid-19 cases on Monday even as the Covid-19 death toll increased to 64 with two more deaths.

With the 105 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh rose to 3,676, including 446 patients, from other states and 112 foreign returnees.

The two Covid-19 deaths were reported from Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh on Monday. A total of 10,567 samples were tested in the last 24 hours in AP.

The officials of the medical and family welfare department said that a total of 34 patients have recovered from Covid-19 and discharged from the various hospitals in the state in the last 24 hours.

The total number of those recovered from the virus in the State now stands at 2,366, including 197 people from other states. The number of active Covid-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh is now at 1,246 (885 from Andhra Pradesh, 248 and 112 from other states and foreign returnees respectively).

Kurnool district has reported 25 Covid-19 deaths (highest in the state) followed by Krishna district with 18 deaths and Guntur district with 8 deaths.

Nellore and Anantapur districts reported four Covid-19 deaths each, while East Godavari and Chittoor districts reported two deaths each. Visakhapatnam district reported one death.

Andhra Pradesh continues to lead the table among the states in the conduct of Covid-19 tests per million.
