COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,873 fresh COVID cases, Nine deaths on Sunday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 31 Aug 2020 3:49 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,873 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 1,24,963 in the state.
Nine new deaths are reported on August 30 taking the total tally to 827. The fatality rate in the state is 0.66 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.78 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 360 new cases while Rangareddy reported 129 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 180 new cases while Nizamabad reported 94 cases.
Around 1,849 citizens recovered from the infection on Sunday taking the tally of total recoveries to 92,837. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 73.3 per cent, which is approximately three per cent less than the national average of 76.55 per cent.
The state currently has 31,299 active cases.
The government tested 37,791 citizens for the virus on Sunday. So far 13,65,582 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 36,782.
Of the total cases, 24,216 are under home isolation. Of those, 84 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 16.97 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.07 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,691 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,563 isolation beds, 4,588 oxygen beds, and 1,540 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
