COVID 19: Telangana reports 1921 new cases, nine deaths on Thursday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 14 Aug 2020 3:50 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,921 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 88,396 in the state.
Nine people succumbed to the virus on Thursday taking the death toll to 674. The fatality rate in the state is 0.76 percent which is less than the national average of 1.96 percent.
Around 1,210 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 64,284. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 72.72 percent, which is approximately 2 percent higher than the national average of 70.76 percent.
The state currently has 23,438 active cases.
The government tested 22,046 citizens for the virus on Thursday. So far 7, 11,196 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 19,156.
Of the total cases, 16,439 are under home isolation. Of those, 84 percent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 17.2 percent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.1 percent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 percent. 46.13 percent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,784 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,501 isolation beds, 4,615 oxygen beds, and 1,668 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals
