COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,278 fresh COVID cases, Ten deaths on Friday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 12 Sep 2020 3:31 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,278 new COVID cases on Friday taking the overall tally to 1,54,880 in the state.
Ten new deaths are reported on September 10 taking the total tally to 950. The fatality rate in the state is 0.61 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.66 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 331 new cases while Rangareddy reported 184 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Nalgonda reported 126 new cases while Karimnagar reported 121 cases.
Around 2,458 citizens recovered from the infection on Friday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,21,925. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 78.7 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 77.75 per cent.
The government tested 62,234 citizens for the virus on Friday. So far 20,78,695 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 55,989
The state currently has 32,005 active cases.
Of the total cases, 25,050 are under home isolation. Of those, 69 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 31 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,672 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,442 isolation beds, 4,616 oxygen beds, and 1,614 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
