Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, two siblings were crushed to death by a speeding ready mix vehicle at RC Puram on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The victims are identified as Pujari Sushmalatha (21) and her brother Pujari Saiteja(19).

Police said the victims are residents of Ameenpur village and are studying a degree in the city. On Tuesday afternoon, they were going to Patancheru to collect income certificate of Sushma Latha.

Midway, when they reached Diamond Hotel junction on the National highway, a speeding vehicle hit their scooter from the rear. The vehicle fell down and both of them came under the rear wheels of the vehicle and died on the spot.

Even after the accident, the vehicle driver did not stop and sped ahead. Passersby chased the vehicle and intercepted it a few hundred meters away from the accident spot. RC Puram police registered a case against the vehicle driver and detained him. Meanwhile, as the accident happened on the ever-busy Hyderabad Mumbai national highway, it resulted in a traffic jam for close to an hour. However, traffic movement was resumed after the bodies were shifted from the spot for postmortem.
