After being on the run for close to a year, he was arrested in 2019. Just before the lockdown came into force, he was released from prison on bail. The victim believed that the four accused: Eruva Prashanth Reddy and his friends Akuniri Shiva alias Tillu, Kommu Sai and Akunuri Naresh, had tipped off the police, leading to his arrest and bore a grudge against them. As he had been threatening them since his release on bail, they decided to kill him.
DCP Balanagar PV Padmaja said that the accused chased and attacked him with knives. When he tried to escape, they hurled a boulder at him, which hit his head and he died on the spot. Based on the clues and eye witness statements, the accused were identified and arrested on Friday.
According to police, Fayaz Khan alias Lava Kusha belongs to Moinabad of Rangareddy district. After marrying a Muslim girl, he converted into Islam and changed his name as Fayaz Khan. After the woman left him, he along with his mother shifted to Banjara Hills. At this time, he started friendship with a woman in Jagathgirigutta. To see her, he would frequently visit her home. During these visits, he became friends with the accused.
Meanwhile, he was involved in a gang murder at Raidurgam in 2018. After being released from the prison, he had a quarrel with Prashanth blaming him for tipping off the police for his arrest. Since then there were a series of quarrels between them and they approached the police. Police counselled them and warned them to not create any trouble.
However, the accused thought that Fayaz Khan would harm them anytime and hatched a plan to kill him. As per the plan on Monday, when he came to Jagathgirigutta, they attacked him. When he ran towards the womanās house to save himself, they chased him and hurled boulders at him, killing him on the spot. They were produced before the court and will be sent to judicial remand.
