Dhoolpets Gully Boy Rahul Sipligunj lifts Bigg Boss Telugu 3 trophy

Hyderabad: Singer Rahul Sipligunj emerged victorious as the third season of the reality show Bigg Boss Telugu came to an end. Of the 17 contestants, anchor Sreemukhi who gave a tough competition to Rahul came runner-up, while choreographer Baba Bhaskar got the third spot.

Rahul from Dhoolpet had just begun his singing career before he entered the Bigg Boss house. His private albums capture Telangana's folk music and culture. Tagged as Telangana's 'Gully Boy', the talented artist can sing and rap at will. He also proved his playback prowess with chartbusters like 'Ranga Ranga Rangasthalana', 'Bombat' and 'Pedda Puli'.

The singer lifted the trophy in a gala event following massive votings and a lot of buzz around the super hit show, which was hosted by Tollywood's 'King' Nagarjuna. With Mega Star Chiranjeevi and host Nagarjuna on the stage, the top two contestants looked tense before the announcement of the results. Though Rahul was considered an 'underperformer', he walked away as the strongest participant. On the other hand, Sreemukhi always exuded great confidence and had a huge following.

Rahul said he is forever indebted to the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for making him the title winner of the third season of Bigg Boss. "Here on, my life has changed and all credit to the fans who extended their support continuously", said the singer. With his parents beaming with joy, Rahul called himself the "luckiest" kid ever. "My biggest achievement is to be born as their son."

The winner also thanked his co-contestants Vithika Sheru, Varun Sandesh, Ali Reza, and Punarnavi Bhupalam for their support during his stay in the Bigg Boss house.

With his journey from a modest background, Rahul has proved that anything is possible with willpower. He said his immediate action after leaving the show would be to gift a house to his parents. "We have been living in a rented house for years now. I want to gift my own house for my parents. They are the reason I am here today", Rahul had mentioned a couple of times.
