Hyderabad: A video of pipelines bursting and flooding the road is being shared on Facebook with the claim that the incident took place in Kerala.

Newsmeter performed a reverse image search and found the same video on YouTube. According to the title, the incident took place in Samiyarmadam in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. (Click here and here to see the videos)


According to Tamil media outlet Nakkheeran, the incident took place in Samiyarmadam in Tami; Nadu's Kanyakumari district. The people of the area immediately informed the government officials who came to the spot to repair the drinking water pipe. Passers-by recorded the video of the burst pipe and shared it online.

Evidently, a video of a burst pipeline in Kanyakumari is being falsely shared as an incident from Kerala.
