Hyderabad: A video of a waterfall is viral on social media. Users claim that it is Athirapally waterfalls at Chalakudy in Thrissur, Kerala.
Fact Check
The claim is False.
NewsMeter performed a Google Reverse Image Search which led us to a video uploaded on a YouTube channel 'Kingbirds studio' on November 23, 2019.
The description of the video reads: 'Jog Falls in Karnataka'.
Taking a cue from this, we performed a keyword search which led us to another video on a YouTube channel 'Yoyo Tv Channel' aired on August 08, 2019.
We also found a tweet by a journalist. Replying to a tweet he stated: "This is Jog Falls near my village in Shimoga district of Karnataka. I was born and brought up there."
It is therefore evident that the claim is False. Waterfall in the viral picture is in Karnataka, not Kerala.
