Hyderabad: Fans of Mr. Bean aka Rowan Atkinson panicked when rumors of his death became the top discussion on social media.
A post claiming that the actor-comedian died on November 23, 2021, began circulating on social media causing confusion. "Rowan Sebastian 'MR.BEAN' Atkinson / Born: January 6, 1955 - Died: November 22, 2021," the post reads.

The claim is false. Rowan Atkinson is alive.
Rowan Sebastian Atkinson is an English actor, best known for his work as television character Mr. Bean. Rumors began doing the rounds that Rowan Atkinson had died when a tweet (now deleted) by a fake Twitter account of Fox News went viral claiming that Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) died at 58 after (a) car accident.
It did not take long to realize that the post is fake. , Atkinson's age was wrongly mentioned. Rowan Atkinson is actually 66 and not 58. Secondly, no official news organization or source from Rowan Atkinson's reported on any such death. If indeed Atkinson was no longer alive, media organizations would have reported on it.
This is not the first time that Atkinson has fallen prey to a death hoax. Early this year too, an unofficial Mr. Bean Facebook page rumored that he died on 29 May 2021. However, PBJ Management, the talent agency that manages Atkinson, denied the actor had died.
"I can confirm he's alive," a spokesperson for PBJ Management told AFP on June 1, 2021.
