NewsMeter found that these images are not related to the UP incident as they took place in October 2020 in Yemen's Al Mahwit Governorate.

We performed a reverse image search and found the image from an October 2020 report by YEMEN NEWS NOW. The article states that a 12-year-old boy was beaten by his father in Al Mahwit Governorate (Yemen). The father tied the boy with ropes and tortured him violently by beating him up with wires and whips.

We also found the images in a report by a Morocco-based news website that stated the images were falsely passed as a local incident but the authorities clarified that the incident took place in Yemen.

This image was also fact-checked by AFP in 2020 when it was viral with the false claim of it being a local incident in Algeria.

The viral images are from a 2020 incident in Yemen and are not related to the recent UP assault case. Hence, the claim is false.
