Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the viral claim is false. The video shows the scouts of the Arangadi Muslim League marching while making Islamic slogans on the occasion of Mawlid.
Using a reverse image search of the video key frames, we found the viral video and a video similar to it shared by an Instagram user named ‘arangadi_official_page’. Both videos were shared on September 6.
Apart from the video, an image of people wearing similar uniforms was posted by the page on the same day with the text ‘2025-26 Scout team Arangadi’ on it.
A comparison of uniforms from the viral video and the Instagram image can be seen below.
What are the individuals in the video commemorating?
The user’s Instagram bio reads ‘Indian Union Muslim League Arangadi’.
We contacted Azim Arangadi, secretary of the Arangadi Muslim Youth League. Azim said that the viral video is from an event conducted by the Arangadi Muslim Youth League on the occasion of Mawlid.
He said, “This event was conducted by us on September 5, the day of Mawlid at Arangadi in Kanhangad, Kasaragod district in Kerala. Videos and images from the event were shared on our social media handles. Mawlid is an annual festival commemorating the birthday of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.”
When NewsMeter contacted Kerala Police Public Relations Officer SR Praveen and asked about the claim regarding the video, he said, “The video is fake, it is not Kerala Police in the video making those Islamic slogans. It seems to be some religious organisation, but not Kerala Police.”
The viral video shows the Arangadi scouts marching while making Islamic slogans. It does not show the Kerala Police Cadets raising religious slogans.
Therefore, NewsMeter concludes that the viral claim is false.
