Fact Check
The claim is misleading.
NewsMeter searched the Internet with relevant keywords and found a few news articles. According to the reports, KSRTC responded to the viral claim and declared it as misleading.
"Officers who conducted an inquiry found that driver PH Ashraf had attended duty wearing the proper uniform. They also found that Ashraf spread a large cloth over his lap to prevent his pants from getting dirty during work," read the report.
We further found a Facebook post, dated May 26, 2022. The user shared an image that detailed the KSRTC's specifications regarding their uniform.
The circular said: "The drivers of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation shall wear Navy Blue pants and Sky Blue shirt or churidar while on duty."
We also found an order issued by Transport Commissioner Tomin J Thachankar on December 29, 2015, stating that KSRTC drivers must wear navy blue pants and a sky blue shirt or churidar while on duty. However, this does not specify whether religious clothing items, such as a skull cap, are permitted to be worn on duty or not.
Hence, the claim is misleading.
