Hyderabad: A 20-second video clip showing people in handcuffs and chains is going viral on social media with claims that they are Indian migrants being deported from the US. Shortly after being sworn in for his second term, Donald J. Trump declared a national emergency at the southern border and vowed to halt illegal entry while deporting millions of "criminal aliens." Following this decision, hundreds of illegal migrants have been deported, and thousands more have been identified for removal.
The viral video shows a group of people in handcuffs and chains, walking past a uniformed military officer while being led by another. The rudder of an aircraft is visible in the background.
The video was uploaded to Twitter (formerly X) with the caption:
"No other country can humiliate India more than this... Trump's practice of handcuffing illegal Indian immigrants and treating them like terrorists is an insult to all Indians." (Translated from Tamil) (Archive)
