Finance Minister Harish Rao tests positive for COVID-19

He has further directed his associates to put themselves under quarantine, sources have confirmed. It is yet to be confirmed if he is at home or being treated in a hospital.

Previously, public officials such as Telangana Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and Home Minister Mahmood Ali have also tested positive for the virus. However, both have now recovered.
Telangana reported 2,478 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 1,35,884 in the state.
Ten new deaths are reported on September 3 taking the total tally to 866. The fatality rate in the state is 0.63 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.74 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 267 new cases while Rangareddy reported 171 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 129 new cases while Khammam reported 128 cases.
Around 2,011 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,02,024. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 75 per cent, which is approximately two per cent less than the national average of 77.14 per cent.
