Hyderabad: V-Wars is a new Netflix vampire-thriller starring Ian Somerhalder as Dr Luther Swann who is reportedly the main character of this show. The American science fiction show is based on a comic called V-Wars written by Jonathan Maberry and Alan Robinson. The story is about a virus that turns people into vampires, and Ian ends up being dragged into this world when his best friend Michael Fayne, played by Adrian Holmes turns into a vampire.

Unlike The Vampire Diaries, Ian Somerhalder will be batting for the human side in V-Wars. It shouldn’t be hard since he had a good experience as a vampire for the former. Sources say that Ian also directed two episodes and is an ex producer for the Netflix series as well.

They started filming the first season in Canada. The shooting began in June 2018 in Sudbury, Cambridge and Toronto, Ontario. The first season will have ten episodes. The trailer of the series features Ian’s wife Nikki Reed as his love interest in the show.

Other casts include Peter Outerbridge as Calix Niklos, Laura Vandervoort as Mila Dubov, Jacky Lai as Kaylee Vo, and Kimberly-Sue Murray as Danika.

There were mixed responses from Ian Somerhalder’s fans. Few are excited about Ian’s debut in the streaming platform while others chose Damon Salvatore — his role in The Vampire Diaries — over Dr Luther Swann. The series will air on Netflix on December 5, 2019.
