Hyderabad doctor couple tested COVID-19 positive, total 45 cases in Telangana
By Newsmeter Network Published on 26 March 2020 9:06 AM GMTHyderabad: A doctor couple from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limit of Hyderabad has been tested positive for Coronavirus. The couple are among the four new cases reported on Thursday, 26 March. The husband is 41 years old and the wife is 36. The couple resides in Domalguda area of Hyderabad. They are reportedly contacts of a COVID-19 patient.
While another case of local transmission has been recorded, Telangana's 45th case is a 45 yrs male resident of Buddhanagar, Secunderabad, with no travel history.
Apart from the couple, a 49 year old man from Qutbullapur of Medchal district has also been tested positive. He is the contact of a COVID-19 patient who had a travel history from Delhi.
With this, the total number of cases stands at 44 ( to note the first patient has been discharged and recovering). Also, the total number of local transmitted cases are 9. The patients are kept in isolation wards in Gandhi and Ronald Rose Fever Hospital.
Yesterday, 3 year-old child, with a travel history to Saudi Arabia was tested COVID-19 positive in the state. This is the first case, so far, where a minor has tested positive for CoronaVirus.
On March 25, two more COVID-19 cases were reported in Telangana. According to the latest health bulletin, Patient (40), Is a 43 year -old female from Hyderabad. She is the family/ (primary contact) of a positive case. The patient does not have any history of international travel, but came in contact with a 49 year old man, who had traveled to London. Both are residents of Kokapet. While patient (41) is a 3yrs old male child with a history of travel from Saudi Arabia.
