Hyderabad roller skaters wait for inauguration of two-year-old skating rink

The young roller skaters of Hyderabad are finding it difficult to practise in the other shabby skating rinks in the city. The situation persists despite an excellent skating rink constructed very near to the old one.
The entire incident popped up in the news, thanks to Rahul Srivastava, who took to Twitter to share the conditions of the old skating rinks and that of the new one. He took to the microblogging site back in July this year to request the Working President of TRS, KT Rama Rao, to inaugurate the skating rink and bring smiles to Roller Skaters at the LB Stadium. He urged the IT Minister to do this as part of the #GiftASmileChallenge campaign, which was begun by friends and admirers of KTR ahead of his birthday on July 24.
Neither the Telangana Sports Minister nor KTR replied, which pushed Rahul to Twitter to mark his concern regarding the delay in the inauguration of the skating rink. He also mentioned in his tweet on November 10 that skaters have injured themselves while practising in the dilapidated old skating rinks.
He urged the Sports Minister to come and inspect the condition of skating rink, which has worsened. He further asked about the inauguration of the new skating rink, as it has been ready for the past two years.
With no proper response from the sports ministry or KTRās office, roller skaters at the LB Stadium are still facing tough times while practising.
