Hyderabad Sub-inspector injured in freak accident

In a freak incident, a sub-inspector deputed to the traffic wing of Hyderabad police sustained severe injuries on Saturday. Srinivas working with Punjagutta police station sustained multiple injuries in the incident. His bike rammed into a car that ran amok, hitting an electric pole and bounced back into the main road at Chaderghat. The car driver is suspected to be under the effect of alcohol.

Srinivas resides at Saidabad. On Saturday morning, he was on his way to the police station at Punjagutta on his bike. Midway, when he reached Meridian function hall, car no MHO1AC 1342 lost control and rammed into an electric pole on the roadside. As the vehicle was going at a high speed, it bounced back on to the road. Meanwhile, Srinivas was passing in the same direction. The car which bounced back on to the road hit Srinivas' bike in the front.

He was thrown off his bike and landed on the road. He sustained multiple fractures and was admitted to a corporate hospital. The car driver, Arshad, who is suspected to be under the effect of alcohol, has been detained for further inquiries.
