In a first, Hyderabad police books nine FIRs via patrol teams

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police have booked nine cases through their new initiative wherein people need not visit police stations to lodge complaints but can do so with the patrol team in their areas. They can register a complaint by giving it in writing along with their address and phone number.
The nine cases that have been booked are under Section 363(Punishment for kidnapping), Section 279(Rash driving), Section 184(Driving dangerously) of IPC and Section 107(Security for maintaining peace) and Section 174(Police to enquire and report on suicide) of CrPC.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Mr Anjani Kumar has thanked the people for reposing trust in the patrolling teams.
āHappy to share that on the first day itself Hyd city patrol officers helped many citizens in registration of FIR without personally visiting the police station. So far 9 FIRs are booked. We thank our citizens who showed trust on the patrol cars. Together we move forward to make Hyd the best city of Indiaā, tweeted the Commissioner.
The initiative was widely welcomed on social media. It started off after Mr Anjani Kumarās tweet on Monday. He tweeted āYou can give complaint in writing with your address and cell number to the patrol car officers of your area for getting a case registered. For registration of FIR you need not come to the PS. We start a new initiative on this new yearā
Earlier on January 4, he had asked people to make friends with police patrol teams. āPolice Patrol cars are for your safety and security. These officers are specially trained and are the best police officers of the city police. Make friends with them. You will start appreciating them. Believe me.ā, tweeted Mr Anjani Kumar.
