Indian American Saritha Komatireddy nominated as District judge by President Trump
By Newsmeter Network Published on 22 Feb 2020 6:50 AM GMTHyderabad: Ahead of his India visit, US President Donald Trump has nominated Indian American lawyer Saritha Komatireddy as the Judge for the Eastern District of New York.
She is currently Deputy Chief of General, Crimes, in the United States Attorney's office for the Eastern District of New York.
After her BA, Saritha Komatireddy completed a three year JD (Juris doctor) foundation course from the Harvard University. She had previously served as Acting Deputy Chief of International Narcotics and Money Laundering, Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Coordinator.
Earlier, Saritha had practiced law at Kellogg, Huber, Hansen, Todd, Evans & Figel P.L.L.C in Washington, D.C. A lecturer in law at Columbia Law School, she had previously taught at George Washington University Law School. After
her graduation , Saritha Komatireddy served as a law clerk to then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh of the U.S. court of appeals for the District of Columbia circuit.
