Instead of Disha's rapist encounter a 2015 encounter picture in circulation
By Satya Priya BN Published on 6 Dec 2019 10:08 AM GMTHyderabad: In the wee hours of December 6, Cyberabad police shot dead the four rapists of the veterinarian doctor Disha at the crime scene. The four were taken to the crime scene near Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad, ostensibly to recreate the sequence of events leading to the horrific November 27 night incident.
Police claimed that when the accused were taken to ORR toll plaza, they tried to escape. So, they were shot dead..
After this incident, social media has been riotously talking about the news, with many congratulating the police for rendering justice to the victim. In the process, many photographs have been in circulation representing the encounter.
Catching the heat of the moment, a photograph which has police men standing near the bodies of the accused is being passed off as that from this encounter in various twitter handles.
Fact Check:
On performing reverse image search, the above image was found to be from 2015. It was taken from an encounter that took place in Seshachalam forest at the foot of Tirumala hills, where special task force killed 20 suspected sandalwood smugglers from Tamil Nadu on April 7, 2015.
Even though, many pictures and videos of the Hyderabad encounter were released, police had been cautious in not releasing the pictures of the bodies of the accused. As a result of this 'precautionary' measure, only pictures of police, the encounter spot and mobs are in circulation, as of now.

Hence, the picture of police standing near the bodies of the accused is NOT from the December 6 Hyderabad encounter but that taken after the gunning down of 20 sandalwood smugglers near Tirumala four years back!
The claim is FALSE.
