Jagan mafia trying to malign image of Chandrababu Naidu: TDP
By Newsmeter Network Published on 15 Feb 2020 4:11 AM GMTHyderabad: In response to the backlash against TDP following income tax raids, the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP said the YSRCP has been trying to malign the image of their party's national president.
TDP, in a formal statement, said, "Srinivas, the former personal secretary of Mr Naidu, was harassed for five days in the name of I-T raids. He was already relieved from Chandrababu Naidu's office nine months ago. While the I-T officials said that irregularities worth Rs. 2,000 crore was noticed in the country, the YSR mafia started a false campaign saying the amount was found at Srinivas' place and blamed TDP."
They further said that I-T officials had raised the issue of the Jagan government awarding Polavaram tender to a company. The Central government had also objected to the changing of contractors as the project works will be delayed and the same was revealed in the Parliament.
It may be noted that the CBI had filed an affidavit asking the court not to give Jagan exemption from appearing in the CBI court as it will lead to influencing the witnesses. Jagan Mohan Reddy had been accused of money laundering and a case was filed against him in the International Court of Justice in Mauritius. Jagan is accused in a Rs. 43,000 crore-scam and is involved in 11 cases.
TDP further questioned, " While Chandrababu Naidu's family is revealing their assets every year, why has Jagan Mohan Reddy's family failed to reveal their assets? "
The party also said that Y.S Rajasekhar Reddy had instituted 26 inquiries against Mr Naidu but had failed to prove the charges. "Everyone knows that Chandrababu Naidu gave a call to abolish Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 5,00 currency notes to curb corruption." it said.
TDP also appealed to the Election Commission to bear the expenses of the contesting candidates. "Everyone knows that while TDP concentrates on welfare and development, YSRCP has been resorting to corruption and blackmail politics," the party said.
The Jagan-led government has been making a false campaign against Mr Naidu and the TDP to divert the attention of the people. The TDP said, "In the first place, Jagan should come out with a clean chit by completing the pending inquiry on the cases filed against him."
This comes after the I-T raids on the residences of Mr Naidu's aides unearthed Rs. 2,000 crore illegal money. The YSRCP leaders left no stones unturned in slamming Chandrababu Naidu and his party, TDP.
