Warangal: Over 30 men, instigated by a landlord, attacked a farmer, P Vijender Reddy, so severely that he has been admitted to a hospital in Warangal with a fractured rib and other body injuries. Although, the incident happened on November 13, it came to light on Saturday when the farmerās son, Mr. P. Amarnath Reddy, sent a tweet SOS to IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). Incidentally, the TRS Working Presidentās name came because āthe attackers said they knew KTR and several bigwigs in the government, including bureaucrats and police officialsā.
The incident happened when Vijender Reddy entered into an altercation with a land-lord, who was allegedly trying to encroach upon the farmerās land.
In his tweet, the son mentions that they were being warned against dire consequences if they did not withdraw police case they had filed.
Narrating the incident to NewsMeter, Amarnath Reddy said, āMy family owns five acres of land in Oblapur village in Atmakur Mandal. Recently, some construction began behind our land. Unknown to my father, the building owner constructed a road cutting into our land. My father called him but they entered into a verbal spatā.
He adds, āThe landlord called 30 men and they began beating up my father. They used vulgar language besides citing they knew KTR, the circle inspector of Warangal and a few lawyers. They threatened to file an atrocities case against him.ā
When the issue was brought before K. T. Rama Rao, the Minister had ordered a probe.
