Kukatpally: EV&DM demolishes foundation laid on encroached open space

Hyderabad: After receiving complaints of illegal encroachment of open space in Kukatpally's KPBH Phase III, the Directorate of Enforcement, Vigilance & Disaster Management (EV&DM), on September 1, demolished pillars set up around the encroached open space.

The Parks, Lakes & Layout Open Spaces Protection Cell (Assets Protection Cell) was acting on a complaint filed by a fellow resident of the area. The APC received a complaint that open space number 19 at the LIG/KPBH Phase III was being encroached by a resident.

The APC, upon inspection, was able to find that a 700 sq yard plot (labelled Green Space/ Open Space No. 19) at KPBH Phase III of the LIG Housing board layout was being encroached by occupants of block number 131.

The LIB block was demolished by residents and they began construction without permission from competent authorities.

The EV&DM had previously issued notices to the occupants asking them for permission documents. Since they failed to submit the required documents, the municipal body demolished the foundation and pillars of the encroached portion.

The Directorate of EV&DM has provided a Toll Free No. 1800-599-0099 for the citizens to call and register their complaint. The protection cell operator receives the calls on Toll Free Number and registers their complaint.
