Hyderabad: If you are looking for a cozy little restaurant in Banjara Hills serving great South East Asian and even North Eastern Indian cuisine, try Hibacci, on the 4th floor of Road Number 7, Vimal Nagar, Hyderabad.
Hidden gem on 4th floor
It is a hidden gem in terms of affordability, authentic flavor, and large portions. Their dishes are all very well presented. The ambience is great with a quirky theme and a great view. The service is quick and the staff is very friendly.
Soups and Starters
The Miso, Tom Yum, and Vietnamese pho soups are all authentic. They serve a variety of fried and well as steamed momos and great Bao or steamed buns. The broccoli and water chestnut dim sum had a good blend of flavors.
The vegetarian starters of Honey glazed lotus steams were delicious, as were the salt and pepper water chestnuts and the edamame (green soya) beans along with butter and garlic sauce.
Singapore Black Pepper prawns and Korean Hot Pepper Chicken were both straight off the pan and very tasty. Korean Corn Dogs seem to be a bestseller too. They offer a nice balance of sweet and savory flavors.
Sushi platters
The Hibacci Mixed Sushi platters consisting of 22 pieces are the best way to sample the different sushi served here. Vegetarian options are many but the Avocado Uramaki is a good choice.
Bubble Teas and Mocktails
There are several to choose from but the Flavoured Mojito and Citrus Fizz were by far the best.
Ramen Bowls
These are hugely popular, especially the Black Bean Ramen and Miso ramen bowls; so is the Burmese Khow Suey.
Mains
The Penang and Rendang Curry both had authentic flavors. We also had the Katsu Curry with Jasmine Rice; the Japanese golden curry was interesting and complex. It was sweet, and savory, and had some umami notes as well. One recommends this dish.
Overall, a pocket-friendly Pan-Asian restaurant with great service, impeccable taste, and good quality ingredients. It is excellent value for money and Hibacci stands out not just for its pricing but also for its satisfying portions and great taste. For anyone looking for a delightful explosion of flavors without breaking the bank, Hibacci is by far the best restaurant in this segment.
