List of Hyderabad Hospitals permitted to conduct COVID test

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court, on 20 May, directed the state government to allow people to get tested for COVID-19 in private hospitals as per their wish. The court termed the state's orders to allow COVID-19 tests only at Gandhi and NIMS hospitals as undemocratic and in violation of the rights of the citizens. The High Court noted that it is the right of an individual to get themselves tested wherever they wish.

However, the court noted that all tests for Corona virus should be conducted as per the ICMR guidelines in place. It also directed hospitals to apply to ICMR under requisite procedures for conducting the tests. It directed the state government to allow private hospitals to conduct COVID-19 tests and treat patients after they are inspected and notified by the ICMR.

At present, Telangana has 12 ICMR-approved private hospitals for conducting COVID-19 tests, apart from 10 government centres. The private hospitals are

Apollo Hospitals Laboratory Services in Jubilee Hills; Vijaya Diagnostic Centre in Himayath Nagar; Vimta Labs in Cherlapally; Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited, Diagnostic Laboratory, in Bowenpally; Dr. Remedies Labs in Punjagutta; Pathcare Labs in Medchal; American Institute of Pathology and Lab Sciences in Serilingampally; Medcis Pathlabs in New Bowenpally; Yashoda Hospital's department of lab medicine in Secunderabad; Biognosys Technologies in Medchal, Malkajgiri; Tenet Diagnostics in Banjara Hills; and the department of lab medicine at Star Hospital in Banjara Hills.
