Mahabubnagar Congress leader brutally murdered over land dispute at Shadnagar
By Newsmeter Network Published on 20 Jun 2020 2:22 PM ISTHyderabad: A Congress leader from Mahabubnagar district was brutally murdered by his relative at Kothur in Ranga Reddy district late on Friday. The deceased, B. Ramachander Reddy (65), and his relative Pratap Reddy had dispute over a land at Shadnagar for more than two decades, which led to the murder, police said.
Police found that Pratap Reddy, along with an associate, had killed Ramachander by stabbing him. More than 10 deep stab injuries were found over the body.
Ramachander worked as the Single Window chairman in Mahabubnagar district and was living in Jadcherla. He owns properties at Shadnagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad, including a 2-acre land at Annaram village in Shadnagar.
Pratap Reddy and Ramachander had even approached court and filed cases against each other over the land dispute. On Friday afternoon, Ramachander Reddy called up Pratap Reddy and fixed time for discussing the issue.
Accordingly, both of them met at the site at Shadnagar and began discussion in Ramachanderās car. After some time, one of Pratapās associate came to the vehicle and made Ramachanderās driver step out of the car, saying that he would drive the vehicle.
Immediately, they drove away from the place. Alerted by Ramachanderās driver, his family members approached the police and lodged a kidnap case. Police deputed special teams and started a search operation.
Meanwhile, there was information about a body lying in a venture at Kothur and rushed to the spot. They also found a vehicle near the body. Based on the vehicle and kidnap details, the body was identified to be of Ramachander.
