NHRC team arrives at Mahbubnagar hospital to probe into ‘encounter’
By Newsmeter Network Published on 7 Dec 2019 8:19 AM GMTHyderabad: A team from National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), currently in the city to have conduct a first-hand on-the-spot inquiry into the death of the four accused of gang-rape and murder of veterinarian Disha. The four were shot dead by the Cyberabad police, in an alleged encounter,the police said.

The team, which first met Cyberabad police officials at a hotel near the airport, is learnt to have discussed about the decisions taken before encounter, details of the case and the status of the investigation. Later they proceeded to the Mahbubnagar government hospital where the four bodies of the accused are preserved.
Meanwhile, a case was registered at Shadnagar police station against the death of four accused and also against the accused on charges of attempt to murder police officials and under the Arms Act.
The NHRC team, which had taken suo moto of Friday’s incident, will first visit Mahabubnagar district hospital, where the bodies of the accused are preserved and also interact with their families besides the doctors. Subsequently, they will visit the crime scene at Chatanpally village, where the victim’s body was found on November 27 and where the accused were gunned down on Friday.
They are also likely to visit the victim’s family at Shamshabad and interact with them about the incident.
Meanwhile, police are conducting searches with metal detectors at the encounter spot to recover empty bullet shells and cartridges discharged during exchange of fire on Friday.
Meanwhile, the family members of the accused continued protests in their places demanding that the bodies be handed over to them immediately.
