Hyderabad: A video showing the police beating a man for hoisting a blue flag instead of the Tricolour on the occasion of the 74th Independence is doing the rounds of social media.

Fact Check:
The video has been on the Internet for the past five months. Hence, the claim is FALSE.
NewsMeter did a reverse image search and found that the video has been on the Internet since March. Many people claim the man seen in the video was beaten up for violating the lockdown rules.
This video has been shared several times on various platforms depicting the strict action of Police during the lockdown.

By using the image magnifier of the Invid tool we were able see that the jeep seen in the video is a Maharashtra police vehicle.
Hence, the claim that cops beat up a man for hoisting a blue flag on Independence Day is FALSE. The video is from March.
