New Delhi, Dec 21: JD (U) Vice-President and political strategist Prashant Kishor hit out at Congress party and their interim President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday.

Countering Sonia Gandhi, who released a video statement on CAA-NRC on Friday, Kisor said that "Congress is not on streets and its top leadership has been largely absent in the citizens’ fight against CAA-NRC."

This comes after he earlier questioned Bihar Chief Minister and his party boss Nitish Kumar's stance on CAA-NRC. He slammed Congress for not making any effort to make all their Chief Ministers join other CMs, who have said that they will not allow NRC in their States.

The JD (U) Vice-President while taking a dig at Ms Gandhi said that statements are useless unless the leaders take to the streets.

Earlier, on Friday, Sonia Gandhi, in a video message, blasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. She said, "In a democracy people have the right to raise their voice against wrong decisions and policies of the government and register their concerns… BJP govt has shown utter disregard for people’s voices and chose to use brute force to suppress dissent."

Meanwhile, AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi late Friday joined the protesters at India Gate.
