Railway cop runs behind moving train to deliver milk to 4 month-old, rewarded

In an exemplary service, a Railway police force (RPF) constable ran behind a moving train at Bhopal station to deliver milk to a four month old baby. The Cop's human act has caught the attention of Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Commerce, who announced cash reward for the constable.

It so happened that, railway passengers and parents to the baby, Sharif and Haseen Hashmi were travelling in the Shramik Special train from Belgaum in Karnataka to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. The parents could not find a packet of milk in the previous station and asked help from the Constable. The baby was reportedly crying out of hunger.

On being approached, RPF constable Inder Singh Yadav, rushed to purchase a packet of milk from a shop outside the Bhopal station however by then the train began to move. The constable ran after the moving train and delivered milk to a lady in the same coach. This act of the cop garnered him accolades from the entire railway police department and even caught the attention of the Union minister. In an official communication, the minister said ā€œ Constable Yadav demonstrated exemplary sense of duty when he ran behind the train".
