The minor boy, Adhyan, was injured during the video shoot. The 17-year-old, scared that the boy’s parents would beat him up, killed him and later dumped his body near the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
The police suspect that the teenager may have been inspired by the recent kidnapping and murder of Deekshith Reddy in Mahabubabad district. They said that though the boy was killed on the same day, the juvenile thought he could collect the ransom and flee to his native town in Bihar.
Adhyan’s family and the accused teenager live in the same building and are well-acquainted with each other. Adhyan also frequently visited the teenager’s room to play. On the afternoon of 15 October, the boy went out to play. When he did not return home, his parents launched a search and then filed a complaint with the police.
While the case was under investigation, the house owner received a call from an unknown person who demanded Rs. 15 lakh ransom. Based on the call, the police found the teenager who confessed to the murder of Adhyan.
